Serving in the military is one of the most noble and fulfilling activities a person can do for their country. Taking years out to dedicate to the safety and security of the nation is a selfless act difficult to match. This makes many people see this as the ultimate act of loyalty, one deserving of respect and consideration.

One way businesses use to repay this form of sacrifice is offering discounts and promotions for active and retired veterans. Home improvement and remodeling are popular activities for many vets, and available offers for these products are numerous. Read on for some of the best discount programs for vets from stores around the country.

Lowe’s

One of the most popular names in home improvement, Lowe’s, offers an excellent benefits program for vets. Lowe’s provides a 10 percent discount on all purchases, each and every day. This discount is available to active personnel and those discharged under favorable conditions. This also applies to immediate family members of those in and discharged from service.

McCoy’s Building Supply

McCoy’s offers two discounts, one good every day, and the other on Veteran’s Day. The everyday discount applies to those currently serving in the military, and their immediate family members. Retired vets with at least 20 years of service can also take advantage of this offer. The one on Veteran’s Day also includes all retired vets, regardless of their length of service.
